The experience starts from Agios Nikolaos heading east. It is an excellent opportunity for you to admire the sublime Gulf of Mirabello. This is eastern Crete Riviera. We pass through many picturesque village and we reach the 15th-century Toplou Monastery. The compound features a small museum with notable exhibits of Christian Orthodox art, such as sacred utensils and chalcography by monks of Mount Athos. There is also an olive press which produces olive oil of outstanding quality and wine making facilities. Both the olive oil and the wine produced in the monastery are exported all over the world.

You may participate in a wine and spirit tasting session (optional) at the monastery’s cellar.

Then we pay a visit to one of the main attractions in eastern Crete, that is, the protected Vai palm forest. It is unique in Europe and is located next to one of the most beautiful beaches of the island. There will be plenty of time for you to enjoy swimming and the rare beauty of the landscape.

On our way back, we will stop at Platanos and watch the sunset in an area with an enchanting view.

The experience starts from the cosmopolitan city of Agios Nikolaos and heads West to the traditional village of Kritsa, a historic village rich in legends, gorges, archeological and religious monuments and monuments. We continue uphill through the pine forest and reach the Lower Plateau (altitude 1250m), a plateau famous for the Cretan dwarf hippopotamus fossils found in the area. The plateau has a wonderful landscape surrounded by many legends and stories dating back to the Ottoman era.

Our next destination is the impressive Lassithi Plateau (altitude 1150m). More than 10,000 traditional windmills operated in the area until a few decades ago. In the 1950s and 1960s, the Plateau was actually one of the first wind farms in Europe. The Diktaio Cave, that is, the birthplace of Zeus, is located in the village of Psychro (altitude 840m).

As we descend, we make a short stop in the village of Krasi and photograph the favorite plane of the famous Cretan writer Nikos Kazantzakis. The perimeter of the plane tree is about 24 meters and is estimated to be 2400 years old. It is also said that each measure of its perimeter corresponds to the age of 100 years.

Our first stop is the picturesque village of Smari in a traditional cheese factory. We will learn all about the process of making cheese and we will try it. Next stop is the village of Skinias for coffee in the traditional cafes and then a visit to Skinofarago gorge. A gorge with rich flora and fauna which is crossed by the longest river in Crete, Anapodaris.

Next stop the sea with arrival at Kastri beach on the south side of the island. Two-hour stop for swimming on the stunning beach and to enjoy your lunch in the local taverns. Moments of relaxation in the quiet and hospitable Kastri before your return to the hotel.

Our first stop is the verdant one and one of the representative villages of Crete, Potamies. We will be guided to a traditional paddock where we will see the milking of animals and local activities
such as cheese making. There we will taste traditional products such as fresh cheese that we just watched its production.

Next stop is the Aposelemis dam, the largest water supply project in Crete. The village of Sfendili is submerged in the waters of the dam with its impressive old houses fading on the surface of the
water. Also a natural wetland with a variety of birds.

We continue uphill on dirt roads to the gorge of Empasa. Impressive mountains and wildlife nature with unique views. Opportunity to collect some local herbs.

We proceed to the Lassithi Plateau. Optional visit to the cave of the god Zeus or just a moment of relaxation with the panoramic view of the Plateau.

Following an impressively beautiful route we reach an altitude of 1250m in the Limnakaro Plateau and we will meet the third highest mountain of Crete, Diktis (2148m). Time for delicious authentic food baked in the wood oven in one of the best traditional taverns.

Our last stop in the picturesque village of Krasi. Its square is dominated by the Fountains and the imposing centuries-old plane trees up to 2000 years old (the oldest in Crete). Having enjoyed a route of beautiful images, we return to your hotel full of unforgettable experiences!

Time to enjoy the food we prepared earlier baked in a wood oven in one of the best traditional taverns.

Descending we stop at the picturesque village of Krasi. Its square is dominated by the Fountains and the imposing centuries-old plane trees up to 2000 years old (the oldest in Crete). We end our day with a tour of an olive oil mill and learning how to extract the olive oil. A small taste test will follow!

Our first stop is the diverse village in greenery, Potamies. Guided tour of a traditional animal ranch and monitoring of daily activities of the locals.

Wandering among the gardens of the village with the fresh fruits and vegetables of the season and the aromas we will reach the dam of Aposelemis, the largest water supply project in Crete. The village of Sfendili is submerged in the waters of the dam with its impressive old houses fading on the surface of the water. We continue, for perhaps the most representative village of Crete, Avdou.
Characteristic of the settlement, all the buildings preserved and with signs with all the information about how the village was shaped then.

We continue uphill on dirt roads to the gorge of Embassa. Impressive mountains and wildlife nature with unique views. Opportunity to collect some local herbs. Time for the sunset! Beautiful images as if taken from another setting accompanied by cool Prosecco and fresh seasonal fruits. Dinner follows with local delicacies in the best tavern in the area.

Mentally and physically full of amazing locations and good food, we take you back to your hotel.

Our first stop is on the Monastery Selinari Saint George, a few kilometers away from Mallia village.  The tradition says that travelers must stop at the monastery when passing by in bid of good luck.

Our trip continues with the story of oil production which takes place in Vasilakis fabrica, in Neapolis village. A full guided tour around the factory, taste olive oils and local products. The fabrica of family Vasilakis begins over 150 years with a small stone olive mill one of the first in the valley, producing life-giving olive oil for the family and their little community for many years. Today, “Vassilakis Estate” is one of Crete’s top producers and exporters of superior extra virgin olive oil. The next generation of the family, the fifth, is now actively involved in running the award-winning olive business.

Next stop, takes place in Bioaroma place which located in Ag. Nikolaos, a marvelous tour exploring the natural wealth of Greek land by creating high-quality organic cosmetics and fragrances. We have the opportunity to see the way of use steam distillation process. Steam distillation is the most common way to extract aromatic compounds (essential oil) from a plant. During the steam distillation process, steam passes through the plant material. The combination of heated steam and gentle pressure causes the essential oil to be released from microscopic protective sacs. This privately-owned, 100-acre botanical wonder acts as a nursery for Crete’s unique flora and fauna, preserving hundreds of different species of aromatic herbs, plants and trees – natural treasures gifted to us by Mother Nature.

Our tour ends in the picturesque town of Ag. Nikolaos with the famous lake. The lake becomes one with the sea through a narrow canal and is surrounded by red rock formations and lush vegetation, with numerous restaurants and cafes around it.
